Basilisk Book Nook – Slytherin - Harry Potter

In April 2025, I was looking for a book nook model to complement my Harry Potter collection.

I found this model on Thangs: Basilisk – Slytherin - Harry Potter.

I scaled the model down to match the size of my books. I printed the model on my filament printer in three parts: the body, the head, and the box.

I sanded the belly, where the print lines were most visible. Looking back, I did not do a very good job. To improve the result, I should have started with a coarser grit sandpaper and then gradually moved to finer grits until the surface was smooth.

Next, I primed the model and applied a green base coat, followed by a shinier green using Citadel technical paints.

Finally, I painted the remaining details, including the mouth, fangs, and eyes, and added shading to the scales.
